The Global Privacy Assembly (GPA) is a leading international forum that
brings together data protection and privacy authorities from around the
world. Established in 1979, the GPA has evolved into a global voice for
privacy protection, with its membership expanding to more than 140
data protection and privacy authorities from over 90 countries.
The GPA's mission is to provide leadership at an international level in data protection and privacy by
connecting the efforts of authorities from various jurisdictions. It serves as a platform for
authorities to connect, share knowledge, and shape the future of global privacy standards. Through its
resolution and declarations on key privacy topics, the GPA encourages the adoption of interoperable data
protection standards, promoting greater transparency, accountability and trust.
GPA’s work is driven by Working Groups that tackle emerging privacy challenges, from enforcement
coordination to forward-looking policy strategies. guided by the GPA’s Strategic Plan, the Assembly
focuses on advancing global privacy in the fast paced age of AI, amplifying its voice and building the
capacity of its members to address the evolving landscape of data protection.
